"Will I Look Cool on This Frame?"
This might be the biggest concern when choosing a frame. Below is a general height compatibility chart specifically for horizontal track frames. Please note, this chart is based on horizontal geometry and may differ from standard frame sizing on road bikes or other types of bicycles. Use it as a rough reference.

Bigger Frames Just Look Better

It’s true—frames with a C-C (center of bottom bracket to center of top tube) size between 500mm and 560mm tend to look the coolest. Sometimes you’ll see tall riders on tiny frames and, as a shorter guy myself, I can’t help but think, “What a waste!”
If your height allows, choosing a bigger frame is usually the better option.

Can You Get That Seatpost Out?

On sports bikes, a longer exposed seatpost adds a sleek and aggressive look. If you’re on the shorter side, it might be smarter to prioritize a long seatpost over squeezing yourself onto a larger frame. That way, both you and your bike will look great.

What If You're Taller (or Shorter) Than the Suggested Range?

If you're slightly taller—say within 5cm above the listed range—it’s usually not a problem. You’ll just end up with more seatpost showing. A longer stem or other small adjustments might also help the fit.

Do Small Sizes Still Count as Horizontal?

Some NJS frames, even if originally designed to be horizontal, may end up with a sloping top tube when the size is small—especially if the C-C is 470mm or less.
This isn't just an NJS issue—small frames across all types often require a bit of slope due to design limitations.
On Masterpista, if we notice more than a 1° slope by using a level tool, we’ll always note that on the product page.

Not Sure What Size to Choose?

Unlike sloping frames, most track frames are horizontal, so the key is: can you straddle the top tube?
If the top tube digs into your crotch when you're standing flat-footed, the frame is probably too big.
But with online purchases, that’s hard to test—so if you're unsure about sizing, feel free to contact us with the frame you’re interested in and your inseam length (with shoes on), and we’ll let you know if it's a good fit.
