Extreme Pressure Grease – Now in Purple!
The grease color has changed from red to purple! There’s been some similar products out there, so they’re differentiating with the color. It's like switching from strawberry jam to blueberry jam — the performance remains exactly the same.
Nishiyama-san from Rockbikes has been using this for years. If a bike manufacturer uses it, you know you can trust it. This extreme pressure grease is professional-grade, used in factories, and is perfect for your bike.
This grease is not available in home improvement stores; it’s used in industrial settings, such as food processing and pulp and paper factories, where water usage is essential. Despite that, it’s perfect for bike maintenance. The 40g can will last you several years.
Recommended For:
- New bikes with slightly upgraded parts
- People who want to keep their bike in pristine, top condition
- Those who have custom high-end parts on their bike
- People who want to extend the intervals between maintenance
Why Is It So Great?
This multipurpose lithium complex grease reduces friction, corrosion, and oxidation, greatly extending the lifespan of bearings and parts.
Its biggest strength is that it’s water-resistant, preventing the common issue of grease emulsification.
One frequent problem in bike maintenance is "seizing" and "grease loss." After applying grease for a long time, it can harden or mix with rainwater, emulsifying and eventually washing away with vibrations. This happens even with regular bike-specific grease unless you reapply frequently.
So, the key is to use grease that can "stay in place and protect parts from rain."
I’ve tried the well-known Shimano Dura-Ace grease, but this one outperforms it by far.
Where to Use:
You can use it wherever metal parts touch. It's especially useful for drivetrain parts like the bottom bracket (BB), headset bearings, and areas that are prone to seizing, like the seat post and threadless stem, which are often affected by water or sweat.
Recommended Mix With:
Use it alongside Nakase’s favorite extreme pressure lubricant spray.
After applying this grease to the BB, hubs, or headset bearings, lightly spray the lubricant on top. This combination adds "wear resistance" to the mix.
Bearings and other delicate parts that experience heavy wear will benefit greatly from this combination.
